Plants

Magnus and I went by the plant store yesterday and ended up with these cute plants. The one on the left sits by my computer normally. The plant on the left is labeled  'Polyscias Butterfly' and the plant on the right is 'Chamaedorea Elegans' or Parlour Palm apparently.

The picture above is the lemon tree.  Its probably  about 1 1/2  years old. It doesn't get as much sun as it needs but it is doing ok I think.

Some random cactuses we are growing.. not pictured is a bamboo plant that finally started growing!

Pacman

I have been trying to finish this pacman game for this summer course. I need to finish it as soon as possible for two reasons:

1) I hate pacman.
2) I need to work on the group project - which is quite interesting.

The weather is good too. I guess that could be reason 3. ;)

Summer vacation

Summer weather has finally arrived. The temperature is constantly above 70 (closing up on 80) during the days now and there might actually be a good reason to stay outside a little bit more! Hopefully we will able to stay a few days at my parents and enjoy even better weather and good times.

In August (19-23) Amber and I are going to the UK. We will both get a chance to see London for the first time and get a chance to see Linda and Andy in Chelmsford. "Of course" the main focus of the trip will be Bromsgrove (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromsgrove) where I have some old friends, and we plan to enjoy the nature in the area and hopefully watch some football if everything works out.

I will start working only a few hours after we return from the UK, it's all about fitting everything into the schedule :) Amber has one week off before her school starts after this, will be good for her to have an opportunity to relax between studies.

Summer(?) and a slow pace

Our normal school educations are on a halt right now, and Amber and I are taking some side courses over the summer. This means a little slower pace in life that could be spent outside if it wasn't for the fact that it's quite cold (about 18C/65F) every day. Hopefully this will change for midsummer or so!

At the end of August I will start the practical part of my education, and it will last for the rest of the year. I will work at the Brunnsbo school as a school counselor for kids in the age span 13-16. Really looking forward to this!

A small update

I know the blog posts here are sparse and it's a bit embarrassing but I will do my best to increase the intensity from now on.
First, a small update about what is happening in our lives!

My current course is "Coping-strategies and ethics in social work". It stretches from February to June and is by far the most interesting course so far in my education. For once, it actually feels like I'm learning something connected to what I'm going to work with eventually.

Amber has very long days in school working with assignments and projects in her "Software engineering and management"-programme. This means that currently I'm the one doing the shopping and other errands. This fall Amber will have to take care of things like that instead while I'm doing my practical work at a school or social office.

Easter is coming up and this one will be more interesting than usual as Linda is coming home from England for a weak and she's bringing her boyfriend Andy so we'll get to meet him for the first time. Will be most interesting! We also have a football game planned for next week to introduce to my favorite team IFK :)

Well, I promise(?) more frequent updates from now on. If I fail, then encourage me by dropping me an email ;)

Surprising progress

For a reason beyond what I can grasp I actually managed to get a G on the development psychology exam. This means that my socionom studies will most likely go on as planned this semester. Ambers studies is also up and running again after Christmas break, and she's doing great as always.

Weather is surprisingly good. Snow everywhere and about -10 C (14 F) every day, just the way I like it! Just wish we lived in the country side to be able to do some more skiing.

Weekend!

Finally weekend. My student allowance arrived today and all our bills can finally be paid, wonderful. Amber had a great day but she'll get to write more abou that herself. I had my first full class of this term today. Was really great, looking forward to study more about cultural differences and it will hopefully help me when I'm finally done with my education in about two years or so.
